The Banquet Supervisor shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose:  To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.  


The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for implementation of all banquet functions at The Glen Eyrie Conference Center, ensuring that service standards and departmental policies are followed by banquet staff.  The position is primarily concerned with front of house activities.


Banquet Supervision and Oversight

  • Responsible for the proper usage and good working order of all equipment for the Front of House
  • Assist Banquet Manager with ordering all equipment and supplies as needed, maintaining proper inventory
  • Provide unique and creative ideas to enhance meetings & group dining experience
  • Supervise and coordinate daily operation of all meeting and banquet functions, including set-up, service, and tear down, etc.
  • Ensure that services are delivered as requested, coordinating with the event planners, chefs, and event services
  • Organize transport of food and equipment to all locations
  • Prepare assignments for staff assigned to each event. Includes assignments for each portion of the work shift; including set-up, service, event tear-down and side work
  • Conduct pre-shift and pre-function meetings as needed
  • Complete the inspection of meeting rooms prior to guest arrival ensuring that client specifications have been met
  • Gather menu information for each function served, in order to appropriately provide signage and explanation to guests
  • Assures staff are in appropriate dress for their work assignments
  • Greet clients in friendly and warm manner and assure banquet staff does the same
  • Work alongside of banquet staff preforming all duties as needed
  • Provide quick service for last minute changes
  • Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refers matters to upper management
  • Notify supervisor and/or security of all unusual events, circumstances, or missing items


Personal Development

  • Participate in development events such as Nav Rep Summits, Cultural Development, Diversity and SHAW trainings or other non-Navigator developmental events as appropriate.
  • Read spiritually and culturally developmental books and literature.


Additional Responsibilities

  • Operate Property Management Software for reports to implement functions, manage schedule, etc.
  • Coordinate the general housekeeping of the shared dining spaces and supply areas
  • Assure that quarterly inventory is documented
  • Provide new and on-going staff training and development for direct reports
  • Assist Banquet Manager with staff hiring and discipline when required
  • Approve and submit all timesheets for direct reports on a weekly basis by 10:00 am Monday mornings
  • Participate in the annual, organizational Plan and Progress Review (PPR) process for self-evaluation as well as for each direct report
  • Submit expense report as needed due the 15th of each month
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


  • Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators.
  • At least 3 years of server experience required
  • Associates degree preferred
  • Working knowledge of F&B preparation and presentation
  • Experience in table management or floor management preferred
  • Supervisory experience
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both in person, in writing, and over the phone

Compensation for this position may range between $35,764 and $44,705 annually.
