Volunteer Department Administrative Assistant

The Administrative Assistant shall serve the Glen Eyrie Group (GEG) Volunteer Department and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.


This position provides coordinating and administrative support to the Glen Eyrie and Eagle Lake volunteers.


Administrative (75%)

  • Processes volunteer applications and coordinates volunteer interviews, including scheduling, orientations, and reference checks. 
  • Maintains the volunteer database and creates, manages, and organizes office files.  Composes and sends communications to the volunteers. 
  • Receives, handles and transfers phone calls, emails and messages within the department promptly and courteously. 
  • Processes and responds to requests for information in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Enters volunteer housing assignments and meals into the property management system
  • Enters volunteer service hours into the database and compiles monthly hours report
  • Schedules educational tours
  • Assists with the planning of volunteer orientations, trainings, and appreciation events
  • Coordinates the Madrigal (main Glen Eyrie Christmas event) volunteer application and scheduling process.


Volunteers (25%)

  • Coordinates requests for volunteers from Glen Eyrie and Eagle Lake Camp Departments, and assists in assigning volunteers to meet the needs. 
  • Stocks and maintains snacks and drinks for volunteer lounge.
  • Prepares letters, mailings, and reports in an accurate and efficient manner
  • Creates a positive and welcoming environment for all volunteers, guests, and staff who enter or call
  • Performs the administrative functions relating to on campus housing for staff and volunteers


Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Volunteer Ministries.


  • Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators.
  • A committed Christian who supports the mission of the Glen Eyrie Group.
  • At least three years’ experience in an administrative or coordinating role is preferable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, phone, and written communication skills are requisite.
  • Dedication to excellence in all areas of work is expected.
  • Needs to enjoy variety in tasks and seasons of work.
  • Should be able to lead and take projects to completion

Compensation Range: $15.22 - $18.57 Hourly
